🔍 Check out our events and Become a Leader with SJSU ASIS&T ✨

Dear Readers,
This month, many thought provoking events headed your way. We are excited to offer events from both our parent organization and our own student chapter, and we hope you can join us and take advantage of these opportunities.
We also have open positions for our team and would love for you to join us. If you are interested in collecting evidence for competencies D, H, and M while having fun working on projects, we encourage you to get involved! Click here to join.

The events of this month continue exploring the realm of technology, misinformation and AI.
The Archival Tool Kit online event will cover Photoshop basics with Carli Lowe and Raymond Lam. This is an amazing opportunity to practice and gain hands-on experience with Photoshop. Register here.
The Evolving Role of AI in Libraries series will feature a session on Opportunities, Challenges, and the Future this month. The Associate Director for Technology and Strategic Planning at MIT, Heather Sardis, will be the guest speaker. Heather Sardis will share insights into the ethical and practical challenges of AI applications in libraries, as well as the potential future that information professionals may navigate. Register here.
Both of these events provide excellent opportunities to learn a new skill and explore how AI continues to evolve in our world.
The US West Chapter will host a hybrid workshop, Considering Cultural and Linguistic Diversity in AI Applications, available both in person and online. This workshop aims to bring together practitioners, researchers and others who work with - or are interested in- culturally and linguistically diverse populations. Register here.
Finally, for those working on your e-portfolios, the finish line is in sight! Keep collecting evidence and continue writing– you’re almost there! SJSU ASIS&T wishes you all the best.
