Dear Readers,
We have some exciting updates for you this month!
First, we’re thrilled to announce the addition of new Executive Committee members (EC). We’ll feature the new board on our website & upcoming posts, for now we’re thrilled that these talented individuals will help us expand our initiatives, allowing us to take on new projects while continuing to deliver insightful programming every month.
In event news, our highly anticipated conversation with Dr. Daraz from the Université de Montréal on Digital Health Information Literacy has been rescheduled to November—we’ll keep you updated as this event gets closer!
Meanwhile, we’re gearing up for the ASIS&T Annual Conference in Calgary, happening from October 25-29. Two of our EC members will be attending, and we’re excited to share their experiences with you through this month’s featured event, a Live Stream from the Conference! Our members will talk about their key takeaways and give insights into attending professional conferences.
In the lead-up to this event, keep an eye out for our Social Media Takeover! We'll be sharing exclusive content on Facebook, Twitter, Discord, Instagram, and our blog, including stories about unique student opportunities through ASIS&T.
If you're a student or alum in the Calgary area, we’d love for you to join us at the iSchool Meet Up—it’s a great chance to connect with peers and professionals!
Finally, we’re delighted to debut a new section in our newsletter: “ASIS&T Member Highlight.” In each edition, we’ll showcase a prominent member’s experience with the organization. Our first spotlight features Dr. Hirsh, Associate Dean of Academics at the College of Information, Data, and Society, and our very own ASIS&T SC Faculty Advisor.
Stay tuned for more updates, and we hope to see you at this month’s events!
